About the cottage

Jizerská cottage offers accommodation for up to 13 guests and perfectly combines the benefits of a new building from 2012 – such as perfect insulation, a comfortable central electric heating with a thermostat control, quality appliances (a electric stove, a dishwasher, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, a washing machine), an underfloor heating in the kitchen or a super-fast internet network via an optical cable – and the traditional look of a cozy Jizera Mountains cottage scented with wood with a large tiled stove and spacious bedrooms, which are separated by thick walls protecting your undisturbed sleep. In case of bad weather, the living room is equipped with a new large-format TV, where you can log in to your Netflix, HBO GO or other account.

As for the layout of the cottage, there is one bedroom for 4 persons, a kitchen with a living room, a bathroom with massage shower and a toilet on the ground floor. Upstairs there are two bedrooms (one for 4 guests and the other for 5 guests) and a bathroom with a bath and a toilet. The cottage also has a room for storing bicycles or skis and a space workshop where other bicycles can be stored if an entire cycling team arrives. 😊

The cottage is located on the outskirts of the little town of Velké Hamry (2km from the town of Tanvald), which secures a great access to it along a quality road maintained in winter so you can park your car right next to it. You have 4-5 places for parking.

About Hamry and surroundings

The town of Veliké Hamry has not only complete services for the everyday life of its inhabitants but also for visitors. A very well supplied grocery store is only 200 m from the cottage. Those who prefer shopping in larger supermarkets will find Bill, Lidl or Penny Market in Tanvald, just 2 km from the cottage.

Sports and Leisure

We have too few lines to write what can be visited around Velké Hamry. Its surroundings are then literally an oasis for those who like to walk and ride on marked hiking trails and bike paths or just through forests and meadows. In the vicinity you will also find a number of cross-country trails (Jizerka, Souš, Hrabětice) and ski slopes (eg. Tanvaldský Špičák) that can be reached by car in ten to twenty minutes and Černá Studnice with a beautiful lookout tower can be reached on foot.

WHY TO VISIT US?

• Because our cottage is located in a strategic place. It is close to Josefův Důl or Bedřichov in one direction, and to Desná, Jizerka, Kořenov or Harrachov in the other. You can discover the magic of not only the Jizera Mountains but also the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše). Our cottage is an ideal starting point not only for hiking or biking but also for cross country skiing and downhill skiing.

• You can reach us comfortably by car or by train. Cottages in the middle of nowhere have certainly their charm but pulling things a kilometre or more from the car to the cottage can ruin your holiday unpleasantly at the very beginning of your holiday. If you prefer to travel by train, the station Velké Hamry město is located only 350 m from the cottage! On the other hand, it’s far enough so you don’t have to worry about the train disturbing you at night.

• It is said that there is no bad weather just badly dressed tourists / athletes. This is certainly true still it is good to have some alternative in case the weather is unpleasant. For these cases, our cottage offers:

  • Super-fast internet via optical cable thanks to which you can work / surf on several devices at the same time and you can connect to your Netflix, HBO GO etc. accounts and watch your favourite shows on a large TV in the living room.
  • Indoor gazebo with barbecue

  • Infrared sauna
  • A number of board and card games for the whole family

The main reason why you should come is the cottage itself. Its interior spaces will breathe into you the real atmosphere of old times but providing an absolute comfort of modern times at the same time. When you add a sauna, a covered garden pool, a ping pong table and a covered gazebo with a built-in grill then there is nothing reason to look for another place.
